TERMS & CONDITIONS

AVAILABILITY

 

  • Our campervan can be hired for between 2 days and 4 weeks, per booking.

  • Please contact us to discuss shorter hires as this may be possible depending on availability.

SCHEDULE OF FEES & CHARGES​​

          Low Season                    1st October to 31st March               £115 per night

          High Season                   1st April to 30th September             £135 per night

          Half-term, Easter & Christmas Holidays                                  £135 per night

          New Year's Eve & Bank Holidays                                            £135 per night

 

  • A standard cleaning charge of £25 is payable for each booking.

  • Any non-standard cleaning may be chargeable depending on the condition the vehicle is returned in. 

  • A security deposit of £1,000 is payable 72 hours in advance of your rental, but will be refunded on return once all vehicle checks have been completed satisfactorily.

  • A late return fee may be payable at £50 per hour where no prior agreement has been made.

  • If the campervan is returned without a full tank of diesel then a low fuel fee will be applied at 125% of the cost to fill it back up.  A 24-hour garage is located under two miles from the return point.

COLLECTION AND RETURN

 

  • Collection time is from 11am on the the day of travel.

  • Return time is before 3pm unless prior agreement has been made.

  • Depending on other bookings we may be able to accommodate adjustments to these standard times.

  • If you will be late in returning, we must be advised immediately, as this may have a knock-on effect with another booking later in the day and also invalidate your insurance.  Additional charges may also be incurred.

  • Please allow for up to an hour at collection of the campervan.  We will complete all documentation during this time, and show you how to use each feature of the campervan.

  • All drivers need to be present on collection of the campervan and must bring their full valid driving licence and passport.

  • A full tank of diesel will be provided so you can get on your way as quickly as possible and we just require the van to be returned with a full tank.

  • The campervan will be fully cleaned prior to collection and must be returned in a similar condition.

  • A vehicle inspection will be performed on your return, following which your security deposit will also be returned - subject to any damages.

LOST PROPERTY

 

  • Northumbria Campers can not be held responsible should an item be left in the van.  During our return inspection we would hope that all items are accounted for but if anything is found outside of this inspection we will contact you immediately and keep your item safe and secure.

PAYMENT TERMS

Payment instalments will depend on the timeframe between your booking request and the start of your holiday.

If your holiday starts more than 3 months from the booking date we require:

- 25% payment upfront;

- 25% payment 3 months before your trip starts; and

- 50% payment 3 weeks before your trip starts.

If your holiday starts between 3 months and 3 weeks from the booking date we require:
- 50% payment upfront; and
- 50% payment 3 weeks before your trip starts.

If your holiday starts within 3 weeks from the booking date then we require:

- 100% payment.
 

SECURITY DEPOSIT

A security deposit of £1,000 is payable 72 hours in advance of your rental.  This will returned within 72 hours of the vehicle being returned unless there is vehicle damage that needs a quote for repair.  Preferred payment is via Bank Transfer and we will provide bank details during the booking process.​​​​​​​​​​​

DRIVING LICENCE CHECK

 

21 days before you rental begins we will require sight of a valid UK driving licence along with a gov.uk check code so we can verify your entitlement to drive.  The check code is generated on the government website at https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence).

 

CANCELLATION NOTICE

 

Should you need to cancel your booking after full payment has been made please let us know at the earliest opportunity as we will try to find a new hirer and refund 70% of your total rental fee.  If we are unable to do so we reserve the right to retain both the deposit and any balance paid.

 

HIRE EXTENSIONS

 

If you wish to extend your hire then it may be possible but you must contact us as soon as possible so we can confirm availability.

 

INSURANCE

 

Daily vehicle insurance must be arranged by the hirer and is not included in the rental price.  We suggest using a comparison website, or a website such as Day Insure who we find to be very reasonable.  Insurance costs are personal to your circumstances and will vary from individual to individual and we will need to see valid insurance is in place in advance of your rental.  We will walk you through the insurance steps during the booking process.

 

Please note, if you are going to be late in returning the vehicle you will need to make sure that you have valid insurance in place to cover the additional time period.  We suggest that insurance is valid to 23:59pm on the day of return just in case, as driving without valid insurance is an offence and could result in prosecution.

 

EUROPEAN TRAVEL

 

Unfortunately, European travel is not permitted but we will be looking to include this option in 2026.

 

IN THE EVENT OF A BREAKDOWN

 

Our campervan was purchased in June 2025 with only 7 miles on the clock.  Whilst we don’t expect that it will be required, we have breakdown cover in place and it is included in the rental price.  Full details will be provided when you collect the vehicle.

 

DOGS

 

We are very happy to allow well behaved dogs on board.  Please refer to the schedule of fees and charges for pricing.
